Ready to jumpstart your future and gain real-world experience with one of the UK’s most exciting rail operators?
Interested in joining us? We usually open around May-June each year for applications. If we aren’t currently open, please email apprenticeships@tpexpress.co.uk to express your interest and we’ll be in touch when our next round of apprenticeships is open!
Think of it as your all-access pass to the world of rail. An apprenticeship is a paid, hands on training programme that allows you to gain valuable, real world experience whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification – it’s a great way to kick start your career!
It’s the perfect way to get a feel for different career paths, build new skills, and figure out where you shine. You’ll be on the move, learning loads, meet a variety of teams, and leave with a clearer idea of what your future could look like. Plus, it's a great way to grow your confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills.
At TransPennine Express we’re invested in our people so we’ll support you to learn and gain a recognised Level 3 qualification. You’ll get dedicated support from a professional training provider and you’ll also get time set aside for you during your working week to get all your studying and learning complete.
Some of our recent apprentices have secured full time positions in roles including Admin Support, Social Media Advisor and Trainee Conductor.
In fact, we’re award winning too! Our Sustainability Apprentice, Lucy Lightbown, recently won Apprentice of the Year at the Women in Rail Awards thanks to her fantastic work.
Whether you’re interested in working on the tracks, helping our customers in the stations or on board or contributing to our operation from behind the scenes, we’ve got space for everyone to succeed.
If you’re ready to be yourself, raise the bar, pull together with a great team, and make someone’s day, your journey starts here.
