We are committed to making our network as inclusive and accessible as possible. We now have two services specially designed to enable those who communicate via British Sign Language (BSL) to travel with us more easily.
We are delighted to enable BSL users to contact us using a BSL video interpreter, via the InterpretersLive! service, provided by Sign Solutions.
The InterpretersLive! service is available on-demand 7 days a week between 08:00 – 20:00. You can also pre-book BSL video interpreters and other types of remote communication support for anytime and anywhere via any video platform of your choice.
To help BSL users communicate in stations, station staff are also able to access a BSL interpreter on their mobile devices.

We have become one of the first train operators in the North to install BSL message boards in select stations across our network.
The screens display live departure and station messaging communicated to customers via BSL. This means BSL users can access service information without having to rely on spoken announcements or written departure screens.
