If you’re travelling into Manchester on the train, Manchester Piccadilly is the main train station, with many of our TransPennine Express trains either terminating here or passing through. When you arrive into Manchester Piccadilly, you can continue your journey on free city centre buses from right outside the station. You can also enjoy unlimited travel around the city on Manchester PlusBus – a ticket will cost £3.90 (£2.60 with a Railcard) with your train ticket. The Metrolink tram system runs out of Manchester Piccadilly, and there is a taxi rank at the Fairfield Street entrance.

As well as being the main train station in the city, Manchester Piccadilly is located right at the heart of Manchester. The trendy Northern Quarter and its selection of independent bars, shops and restaurants is right around the corner, whilst Market Street and the Arndale Centre offer high-street shopping just a short walk away.
If you’re in the city for some football, you can hop on the Metrolink at Manchester Piccadilly and head northeast to the Etihad Stadium or southwest to Old Trafford depending on your allegiances.
