Oxenholme Lake District train station is located in the small village of Oxenholme. For onward travel to nearby Kendal, there are buses that run from directly outside the station. There is also a taxi rank on the station forecourt for shorter journeys within the local area.
Oxenholme is a village in the Lake District, just two miles south of Kendal. It is 11 miles from Windermere and the famous Lake Windermere. Oxenholme makes for a fantastic base for walkers looking to explore the Lakes, as well as the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The town itself is tiny, but has plenty of charm. As Kendal is so close, there is much of the Lake District to enjoy right on your doorstep. Local attractions include Kendal Castle and Kendal Museum. With trains to Oxenholme taking just over an hour from Manchester and just half an hour from Preston, it’s easy to escape to the Lakes.
