December 2024 Timetable Changes

• We have resumed running four express trains per hour between Manchester Victoria and Leeds
• Trains from Manchester Victoria to Leeds and vice versa depart at even clockface intervals – on the hour and every 15 minutes giving easily memorable departure times
• We resumed operating two trains per hour between Liverpool and Manchester Victoria. These trains will form a half hourly express calling only at one intermediate station (alternating between Newton-le-Willows and Lea Green)
• We'll be running 50 trains each way, every day, between Liverpool and Manchester stations (Monday to Saturday, with fewer services on Sundays)
• Most services operated on the Liverpool – Sheffield – Doncaster – Cleethorpes route will be operated by six carriage trains
• Chester-le-Street will now receive hourly calls
• Our services will now call at Eaglescliffe every hour
• Castleford, Normanton and Wakefield Kirkgate have gained direct trains to York and Manchester every hour, every day
• Evening connectivity between Manchester and Oxenholme via Preston is enhanced with gaps in the timetable filled

Northallerton

Our services operating between Liverpool Lime Street and Newcastle will no longer call at Northallerton in both directions. A new service operated by London North Eastern Railway will operate between York and Newcastle in both directions, including a station call at Northallerton, at two-hour intervals.

Eaglescliffe

Services operating between Manchester Airport and Redcar Central/Saltburn will now call at Eaglescliffe in both directions at hourly intervals.

Saltburn

Services operating between Manchester Airport and Saltburn will only operate to Redcar Central throughout the day. A number of trains will continue to serve Saltburn:
