What's available onboard?

Welcome to First Class. Whether you're starting or ending the day with us, our Express Plus menu has some complimentary, tasty treats to keep you fuelled up throughout your journey.

Our menu changes based on the time of day but for those of you with us for the evening, expect at least one drink, snack and dessert. For further information on what is available onboard, see the menu detail below.

Your menu will be slightly different depending on what your journey is. If you're not sure what route you'll be on, check out our routes.

For trips between Newcastle and Edinburgh or Liverpool Lime Street and Newcastle:

For all other trips (other than the West Coast):

Express Plus C185 menu

Just so you know, if your train is formed of 6 carriages, catering will only be available in the front three carriages.

When is catering available?

Our core catering hours are between 0700-1830 Monday to Friday and 0900-1830 on Saturday and Sunday. 

We will always try our best to make sure that our advertised catering service is available during your journey. However, there will be occasions where we are unable to provide catering due to operational circumstances.

Food & Drink products will change at regular intervals, however all are labelled with specific allergen information as necessary. If you have a severe allergy which gives you cause to be concerned about travelling on a train, you can contact us via social media, Whatsapp or our customer contact centre further details of which can be found here.
